Progress Report #3

At the beginning of the week I was able to send my training lesson to both my brother and friend. My brother was able to complete the training lesson at the beginning of the week, while my friend was able to complete it a couple of days ago. To evaluate my training lesson I have created an assessment for both my brother and friend. The assessment was for both of them to copy a flyer that I created as best they could using the training lesson I provided them. The training lesson took them both around 20 minutes to complete before they began the assessment. The assessment took my brother about 25 minutes to complete and my friend said that the assessment took him about 15 minutes to complete. I incorporated all of the tools that I talked about within the assessment. My brother turned in the assessment first and tried to ask me questions during it, but I told him that I would not be able to help him and that he had to do the best he could. The flyer that he turned into me actually turned out pretty well, so he must have figured it out. When my friend turned in the assessment, his flyer looked almost identical to mine and I wonder if he may have had more experience with InDesign than he said he did. Both assessments were pretty close to mine in the end, but I may need to try out the training lesson on more people to get a better idea about how effective it is.

  1. Was this what you expected? My Beta test went smoother than rolling it out to a class of 24 as I had a few bumps in questions I didn't answer in my material- If the FAQ are covered in the instructional sections, you can be surprised how easy it can go for the learners.
